Clunking noise....

When I'm in/shifting in and out of 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd there is a clunking noise. Hard to tell but it sounds kinda like it's coming from behind me. When in 1st I can manipulate the sound with the accelerator by giving and letting off the gas quickly. At first I thought it may have been the clutch. And then maybe a u joint or something like that. I read a thread from another forum that I found on google and the guys that posted were talking about it maybe being the two piece drive shaft. Any ideas?

The clunk you hear is inherent to '05-'09 cars. I think it a combination of the rear end and the two piece drive shaft.

My '08 does it after 26 k miles from time to time and it has more to do with driving technique than anything. It happened when it was new until I got used to the clutch and If I don't drive it for a while, it happens.

If you ease the clutch out in between shifts it doesn't happen. With time you will figure it out.

Ahhhh ok well that's good news haha. Thought I broke it already and it's only been a few weeks. Being new to a manual daily drivers doesn't help either I guess lol. Thanks man

Don't "pop" the clutch during the 1-2 or 2-3 shift..ease it out and you'll get used to it.
