Break Squeek

Not sure if thsi is the right area since its not really a warrenty issue, but more of a tech one. At around 16,000 miles now I started getting a high pitched squeek in my front breaks it seems. This occurs when the break pedal is pushed about halfway down, once it is pushed down firmly the squeek stops. Does this mean I need new breaks or is it normal wear?

I have had the same problem, im now at about 30,000 miles, about a month ago I went to ford to get new pads, the guys took alook at the car and said, My pads were fine and I wouldnt need to replace them for awhile, they said sometimes they just sqeek and there some spray you can buy that should get rid of the squeek, I havent done it yet, but im getting ready to, the noise is pretty annoying.

I have the same problem. Starting at 15,000 miles, my fronts started to squeak. Pads are OK and have plenty of time left on them. Squeak spray is probably the answer. TSB is only for the rears anyway.

I've got the squeek, have seen the TSB, dealership charged me for an inspection and said my brakes were fine. Even after I told them it was a common problem with the 05's and a TSB is out on them.

Ford service departments suck, period.

I will replace them myself when I get the time or the squeek becomes unbearable.

One thing about the TSB is it's under the LIMITED waranty. That warranty stops sooner than the standard one. I think it's 20K miles, but not sure.

12 months/18000 miles on brake pads-it is in the warranty guide.
