Brake fluid flush & refill???
My 2005 V6 was just at the dealer's service department for 30,000 mile service.
I was told the brake fluid failed for moisture and metal content and the brake system should be flushed and refilled (at a cost of about $115). I've owned several cars for 5 or more years, taking them over 100,000 miles, and never had the brake system flushed. In fact, I have never heard of that before. Has anyone else?
They also told me the transmission fluid should be replaced. I said I would hold off on both services for right now.

I would take it to an independent shop you trust and have them check it to verify it's really happening and go from there.
Hm. This is interesting. Could we be seeing the first long term effect of our leaky reservoirs or of the problem that caused them to leak (i.e. the system is not closed)? I am not a brake expert by any means but it makes me wonder none the less.

The owners manual and the maintenance guide do not mention either item as part of 30,000 mile service. From many years of Mustang ownership, I recommend a brake fluid flush after a few years if you have a spongy pedal. I'd leave the transmission alone unless you are towing or having trouble.

Your first transmission fluid and filter change is important don`t leave it !
The first one is 30,000 miles in the maintenance guide.
If the brake fluid is dark they are probably right, I`d find somebody to show you how to change it, its easy.

I took mine in for the 30000 check and they made no mention of the trany flush.. I think the only thing they did was change the fuel filter. Not 100% sure

It`s not a good way to do it.
