Not sure if this is your problem, but here's a TSB on Discharged Batteries.

I just had this problem. I had not started her for about 2 weeks though. I think it is due to the 15 degree weather here in Chicago. THink I need a new battery or just charge this one and trickle charge it over the wimter since I do not drive it now?

My battery just gave out, too. The car had been in storage for several months, but my son had been starting it up every few weeks. Turns out the alternator was bad, so the battery wasn't getting a good charge and eventually the battery was completely drained and wouldn't take a charge. The dealer is replacing the battery and alternator now.

We had the problem about a month or so ago. The car had been sitting for about 7 or 8 days in the garage. When my husband went to start it up...nothing. He jumped it and drove it to work (45 min away) and it's been fine ever since (except having to reset the window to do the auto roll up thing correctly right after this). We checked and no lights left on etc. Not sure why but have made sure to start it at least every couple of days. Ours is only 3 mos old...

Same here. In garage for about a week. Went to leave for work and not enough juice to start but not completly dead. Charged battery for few minutes and has been ok since. I have aftermarket alarm so I was thinking it was drawing current although I don't set the alarm in the garage.

I'd be leary of a battery that has been discharged too many times. Every time it is discharged it looses a significant portion of its remaining life. A battery tender should be in order for a car that isn't driven regularly. From what I've seen in these topics it may only take a few days before the battery is drained in the S197.
