I get this annoying rattle when my left tires go over unsmooth surfaces. The rattle seems to be coming from the left side dash. It seems like it's coming from the left side vent or the **** that changes the side mirrors. Has anyone have this problem? When the surface of the road is smooth, i don't get the rattle but when the left tires goes on uneven surface it rattle in the left dash. Any advice would be helpful.

I have it also. Totally annoying. I have no idea what is causing it though. If I just sit my hand on the top of the dash without evening pushing it will stop.

My first thought would be..check all the same molding pieces on the left side that are rattling on the right side..I'd bet money it's not coming from the vent..
Denver05GT, Did you find yours on the right side?

I don't have the GTanymore, but mine had a rattle in the instrument panel right above the center of the chrome trim piece. It was right where the front dash panel made contact with the top of the dash. If you pushed on it, you could make it squeek. I'm thinking putting something between the dash and the front panel would take care of it.

The driver side a-pillar where it meets the dash top was rattling mostly occurred when the car was cold. I removed the panel and added some light adhesive backed foam to the backside of the molding where it sits on the dash top. Noise was gone.

That's exactly where my rattle is coming from. I put some foam rubber between the a-pillar and the dash and it helped some but I still rattles over large bumps. How hard is remove the A-pillar?

Removal is accomplished by unsnapping the trim panel starting at the rear-gently pull the panel inboard with a slight downward motion, working foreward. Once you get to the very front where it meets the dash, slide the panel to the rear and rotate it upward to release the tabs from the dash slots.

If I take it to the dealer, do you think they would fix it?

Yes, as long as they can duplicate it. (I work as a service advisor in a Ford dealer.)

I had right side rattle and it turned out to be molding piece on pillar.I gave it a good slam back in place and it hasn't rattled since.

My noise was more of a tick it's gone now I posted how it was fixed in this topic http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=37199
as for this specific rattle I think I had it a while a go it comes from the passenger side air vent. Either the ring around the vent or the vent it self. If it's not that it could just be the passenger side air bag compartment. Where the two pannels meet horizontally, I do not know of a fix for this, yet.
