Alternator Problem

Well I can add another one to my list of 16 or so problems, see my original post http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=65116. My battery has been going dead so i got it checked. It checked out good so got alternator checked and the auto parts store says it has two bad diodes. Tried to find a new one at two different places and no one seems to have one, checked on line at a couple of places and they go anywhere from $250 -$350 + $75 core charge !!! and of course it is now out of warranty. Anyone had the same problem or have suggestions.

I noticed the online cost of them since I had to recently replace the one in my Stealth. The Mustang looks 100 times easier to replace though.

DonW just had a recent alternator replace if I remember right. He was looking into several different models I think. Can't remember what the $$ was though.
