A positive service technician experience...

Bought our '07 Tungsten GT 2 weeks ago. Of course, the battery was a dud to begin with, so we took it to a different dealership than we bought the car, but they are cool about it. They will most definitely get my business from now on. Anyway, Wednesday, i get a call from the dealer, saying the piece for the 'Stang is in, when do I want to bring her in to get it replaced? I said - "what piece, and what needs replacing?"

Rep. says they noticed a large hairline crack in the piece above the radiator (a crack that wasn't there last week). So they ordered a new piece for me and they want to replace it - since the car is so new. So i take her in tomorrow. question is: are they really looking out for me or did the technician who replaced the battery break the piece when it was in for service last week? I guess it doesn't matter, and at least if they did break it, they didn't just see if they could get away without telling me they'd broken the piece. Hope they will be good for us long term.

It may have been overlooked during predelivery inspection and dealer is making a couple of bucks off Ford.
