2007 GT 3Kmile - Lost power brakes!!

So driving home today my brakes totally locked up on me. The pedal was extremely stiff and it was **** near impossible to stop the car. I immediatly took it to the dealer and I'm stuck in a loaner car all weekend. Seems they think its a brake booster (I think thats what they called it) and they needed to order the part.

This is the 2nd brake problem I've have with the vehicle. The 2nd day I had the car the low brake fluid sensor came on. They ended up installing a new master cylinder to fix that problem.

Since I know little to nothing about mechanics, could these two problems be connected?

So which was it? The brakes locked up, or the pedal didn't work?? Brakes locking up would definitely stop the car!!

Anyway, yes they could be connected if the dealer did not replace the master cylinder correctly.

Yeah, for you non-mechanical types...
The brake booster thingy is connected to the master cylinder.
When it doesn't work right it can be really hard the make the brakes work.
If they screwed up the master cylinder install it might do exactly what you describe.

Your right theedge67, the brakes didnt lock up, it was the pedal was very stiff when trying to push it to stop. It sure did make for an interesting 10 mile drive to the dealer with probably 20 traffic lights along the way!

Hopefully if they fix this correctly they wont screw anything else up. I'm told I have the 'Mustang Mechanic' on the job this time. So i'm keeping my fingers crossed!
