If he does not pay you for the damage, you can file with the state and they pull his drivers license untill he pays up. I have had to do it before.

new axle is a 300. bucks by itself,

quarter panel is easily 400 bucks with shipping,

new wheel, 125.00-150.00

side scoop 110.00

lower molding 70.00

wheel well will need to be replaced due to the amount of run\st on that fender 70.00+ shipping

that is new parts 1000+

to install the parts your looking at about 2000-2500 in labor,

plus paint another 400-800 depending on quality and how much they repaint

at a min not including any other parts they need wheel bearings , seals ect your at about 4000.00

of course you could get some used parts but why.

and Ale, a problem you might have is the insurance company might not want to pay 100% since there was a problem previously repaired in a less than professional way.

insurance calls it betterment, when they fix or repair a car to a better condition that it was before a claim.
Quarter panel - $60 or around $275 for a full one.
Wheel well - $45
I could sell him my rocker panel moldings for cheap if he needed them.
Door is around $260
scoop molding- $30
Axle - around $100

Shipping - Free cause I know where to buy.

Still nowhere near 1k. For $300 I would buy a new rear end rather than an axle.

how can you get a new rear end for 300.00, used maybe. i am telling you how the shop will price it, remember they are going to make a profit on the parts not find the cheapest price and pass it along to you.

also i am quoting ford tooling parts not aftermarket parts,

Yeah, I meant new to him. I would just get all the parts and then bring it to a shop if you could.

And for ford tooling I could see the 1k price marker cause their prices are crazy high.

Yeah good luck with them. I had to go thru them when someone backed into my car and they wouldnt pay the body shop to fix the car right. the colors that they spot painted it didnt even match the rest of the car. The vinyl graphics didnt even match and they wouldnt replace them.

You have to keep in mind that body shops WILL NOT use or get used parts. The parts that they get are either remanufactured or brand new. So the prices are going to be up there. I got pics of some damage that cost $1,275 to fix and they still didnt fix it right. Just let me know if you want to see them and I will post them.

Can you elaborate?

I had an accident with my '01 and all they used was "recycled" parts. I had to beg them to replace the used glass with new because it had someone else's SN# etched in it.

I'd say turn it in to your insurance and let them go after him--they've got the resources to do the job right, they'll either get the $ they paid out or they'll suspend the guy's license...be prepared to take him to court if necessary. Hope you can get them to do a good job on getting your car fixed, don't let them total it...they'll want to do that & give you "Blue Book" value & you'll get the short end of the stick.

Sorry to hear that. Yeah body shops are not supposed to use any used parts for repairs. If they use used parts than likely they are trying to do a shady job or make a bigger profit by charging the insurance company the price of new parts.
