small amplifier and box for 10 inch sub? anyone got one?
small amplifier and box for 10 inch sub? anyone got one?
looking for a small amp to push my little MTX sub....I only need like 100 watts RMS the sub is a 200 watt RMS sub and 400 watt peak, it's a single voice coil.
I'm looking for an amp and a small sub box, either ported (preferably not cylinder ported) or sealed....no bandpass boxes please.
any type of amp is fine, I don't need wiring for it...preferably with remote power switch (yes I've seen them without) and remote bass control.
I'm not a brand specific person typically....when I had my old setup I was running 3000 watts from 2 rockford amps and 4 HE2 subs in custom built ported sub box, with a pioneer AVH-P5700 DVD head with a 6 disc DVD changer dedicated to the head with XM radio......
anyway, enough of my history....if anyone has one laying around, let me know.

Yep. Got both. Box aint that great (truck wedge), but I am using it in mine with a 10 for fill. I think the amp is a Kenwood 700W peak. I will have to check. I have the electronic manual on it somewhere. It worked fine, just too much for me. I also have a Profile California that is 3-channel.
Okay, I was able to go look at this stuff. The first amp is not a Kenwood as I thought. it is a Pioneer GM-X862.

The 3-channel amp I have is a Profile California 3300.

The box I have is a single from a pair of truck boxes - Kicker ST1000
It's not in good shape, but can be worked. And the woofer and tweeter still work. That is what I did is bought the pair to work the box so that I could put it in my hatch and still use the cargo cover. You can see dimensions below.

If interested, I'm asking $40 for the Pioneer, $25 for the Profile, and $10 for the box.
They all worked the last time I checked. Will even hook them up to let you hear.

Yeah, I can bring them. No, I have no pics, sorry. It does need to be recovered. I am not sure about the construction. I took mine and sealed the hole for the port and tweeter, stuffed some fiberfill in it, and it does okay with the little bass that I needed. It actually surprises me at times.
I don't care about cosmetics...if I cared about that I'd have a custom box like I had in my lincoln (gorgeous) I still miss that car....I'll find a pic of the system and post it. no I'm not a fiberglass guy either.
