That SUCKS...I can't believe they changes the schedules around like that. Last year all the Grand-AM cars ran and Saturday and only the prototypes were on Sunday.

They swapped it around and split some classes up, which in the end made for better racing. Instead of 80 cars on the track at once, it was 35-40, which kept you from beating your car up nearly as bad

Well from a fan stand point I thought the racing sucked on Saturday. I didn't get to go on sunday so I don't know if it was as bad that day either. They had two races on Saturday ST and GT classes. 20 cars in one race and 18 cars for the second race. 20 cars on a 2.38 mile course = boring!!! The action was so much better the last two years when they were all on the track together. If they wanted to split them up a little bit they should have combined teh ST and GT classes for the early race on Saturday and then had the larger GS class race for the late race Saturday. JMHO

The Grand Sport race on sunday was fan---tastic!!!!! 40 cars, 12 of them Mustangs!! Most of the day there were 5 or 6 Mustangs running in the top 10, with the 55 Hypersport Mustang (Joe Foster/Scott Maxwell) in 3rd place for half of the race. The 55 fell back to 16th after pitting and worked back up to 4th with 2 laps to go then RAN OUT OF GAS within feet of taking 3rd place. The Jim Click Racing #150 Mustang was in 5th with less than a lap to go and his car went dead! I went to the pits and was talking to Jim Click and he said he RAN OUT OF GAS!!
If these cars had not run out of gas then Mustangs would have been: 3rd, 5th, 8th, 9th and 10th
Mustangs came in 7th,8th,9th and 11th. Ford is still in the lead in the Manufacturers Championship with 5 wins, a 3rd, a 4th, a 7th and an 8th in 9 races, and 3 races to go!!!!!!!!

I agree. The racing the previous two years was much better. I was also disappointed to see that they did not televise the GS class race. Apparently they haven't televised any of the GS races this year. They are going to lose the fan base if you can only see the race if you go to the race. Also, why was the race at 8:30? Who in the world can get to Birmingham in time to see a race that early unless you stay in Birmingham? It's almost like they didn't want anyone to see it.

With Koni Class and GT on Saturday, it opened up Sunday for the GS (Stang) race Sunday Morning and the DP Race Sunday at 2:00.
Yes it may have seemed boring with fewer cars on the track at one time, but it gave each class member a fairer chance this way.
SCCA/ Rolex has been waiting to TRy this "separate" Class racing for awhile and have adopted it for the rest of the season.
Sorry that our sponsered team did not do better, he got ran over by a Porsche, even though he had the line.
