Race seats

I was wondering if racing seats would look good in my mustang. We had a sherif come to school and showed us a video on wrecks. It talked about buckling up and what can happen if you dont. Well my mustang doesnt have head rests and i started thinking that i could get whiplash if i had a wreck. So i wanted to get them for safety. I would also get 4 or 5 point seat belts. Just to get on the safe side. Tell me what you think.

Something similar to this. http://www.cruizinconceptswholesale....raceseat91.jpg

The bigger problem is that the 67 didn't come with shoulder belts. If yours still doesn't have them, you might consider an aftermarket set of seatbelts.

I was rearended at 40mph in my 68 Mustang. I pivoted at the hip and hit my head on the steering wheel.

You can buy headrests that attach to your seats.

There are also web pages showing how to add the shoulder belt to a 67.

dont get cheap race seats , , if they are inferior quality and your in an accident they could just fail and cause more harm than good!

safety is not the area you want to skimp on!

get some good quality seats, roll bar and then a 4-5 point harness, then good luck getting out!

I would rather be safe and hard to get out. Dont want just waist belt. Doesnt keep my head from hitting steering wheel. 4 or 5 point belts is a must for me.

Well, Recaro and Corbeau make good seats, and I would say go with a 5 point set up. Just remember, that you'll need to mount the belts somewhere other than the back of the seat, it should be on a roll bar or something similar.

Another note of safety, keep the shoulder belts anchored above your shoulders. Some people run them over the seat back and then erroneously attach them to the floor, or to the rear seat lap belt. In a frontal collision, you move forward and low mounted shoulder belts then pull downward on your shoulders causing a spinal compression, which I take to be a bad thing.
