Is that a Maverick in the one pic? LOL If you notice on the "for sale" sign (under the masking tape, it says (said?) $10,500....you wonder if that was with engine/tranny and now is less....I would hope.

The white 4 door is a Maverick, the white 2 door is a Mercury Comet, the black 2 door is a '62-'63 Fairlane.

Asking price earlier in the week was ~$6k
car has been through 3 or 4 engines - originally 289 w/manual tranny
body has been stored inside - not in bad shape
front pans have been fixed/replaced some years ago - not a great job - rears look like pinholes have been repaired.

Car exterior was painted red at some point - looks like car has 3 coats of paint.

6K is alot for a shell. It would have to be a FB to sell for that much.

I agree - even though it is complete (- engine and tranny)

I thought it was high, too.
The car has been stored inside - I figure somebody who has a rustbucket up north will ****** it up.

6k for the car + will need a good 10k (my opinion) to restore + new engine and tranny (cost?) so now you have a few years and over 20k in it. The seller, I would think, probably saw this coming. In today's economy, they 1) don't have the $$ to do this, and 2) know that no one will pay 20k+ for the car.....therefore, move it and let it be someone else's problem.....while they count their cash. Same old story; different car.
