New Tires

I have been looking around for new tires for three of my four vehicles. Found a new place online that beats Tire Rack. It is Tread Depot out of Atlanta. Checked places locally and the best prices I found on the Kumho for the Mustangs was Top Line but they still couldn't compete with Tread Depot.

Leaving for Orlando this weekend and needed two tires for the E350. I have been running Goodyear Wrangler RTS E rated but they are noisy and won't stay round. I have had them trued three times in the last five years. I started looking at Michelin. They have the LTX MS2 in an E rated that has great reviews and more of a street tread with a 70K tread warranty. They aren't cheap and that is the reason I have never had a Michelin. Checked locally and it was going to cost me in the neighborhood of $600 for two of them. Tread Depot came in at $174 + $18 shipping and $21 road hazard each. $20 each locally for installation. Total $466.

I was ready to order and for some reason I called WAF. They quoted me $452 out the door. I told them go ahead and order and took the van to them last Thursday. Dorene picked it up and it was $442. I called back yesterday and told them I forgot to add the road hazard and Scott at the Madison location said that all of their tires include road hazard under some agreement they have with the distributor. If I have any trouble while I am on the road all I do is pay for the repair or replacement and bring them the receipt for reimbursement.

I asked how they were able to do the tires so cheap and Scott said they were having a sale on all tires through the end of the month for 5% over cost. I am going to be able to move up to a General for the Mustang for about the same as the Kumho's.

I got my Falkens from Discount Tire Direct for like $290 shipped(all 4 15"). There is also a guy in Scottsboro who runs a company called Alabama Wholesale Tire. He is highly recommended on another forum, but I have yet to use him.
