Moving posts

You know....The reason I posted it in the RCMC section, is to see if anyone in the RCMC has one. If I wanted it to be a general post, then I would have posted it there.

I'm not quite sure what the thought process is that's going on here, but I don't think I like it. Could you bring my post "Mini-Fridge" back so that members of the "regional Chat" - "southeast" - "Rocket City Mustang Club" can see it?

I could be wrong, but I don't see what shopping for a fridge or the price of stocks has to do with the RCMC. I thought it was kind of me to give it a week to expire.

You all let me know if I'm wrong. If you want this to be an anything goes forum, speak up.

I would rather this forum have posts that have some interest to the club.

Different perspective. I'd like to see this as a member's only forum that's open to any and all discussions. This should be a place where members can share personal experiences (like Skip and Deb) as well as technical info. I didn't mind at all that Gary was looking for a fridge. He's a member and he's looking for a little help.

Internet is full of impersonal technical forums. This is our local friends and family here.

RCMC Forum

All of this discussion brings up a good point. I saw it on RCMC Forum when it was a sub-forum of HCS. A list of 3 to 8 or so different categories never existed that could have. In the case of the current RCMC Forum (this one), Some categories that would "fit" could be:
Member Info
Members' rides
Discussion for RCMC Friends and Family
Mustangs Wanted: or For Sale
Other tools, equipment FS or wanted (In the case of the refrigerator) or even a "porta poddy" to take to a car show...
It would take about an hour to set up a few categories.

I'll go with the "Members Only" to an extent and that brings up a good point, The top sticky could be a printable membership form.

Just a few of my ideas. Some may or may not be good.

Thanks Keith for moderating !

Well, I can see what you're talking about with the Car only stuff or club only stuff on here, but I think it would limit the attraction to the board.

In fact we have already went past that with posts such as "car for sale"....how does that affect the club as a whole?

In another post a member is discussing starting a completely different club altogether.

Then, as Mark brought up, Skip and Deb. Not a "Car" issue, but important nonetheless.

I have no problems following any rules that we set up, I just don't think we have a clear set of them as of yet.

And yeah.....I was looking for a local member who may have a fridge laying around. If I had to ship it from some guy in CA....Then I should just go buy one myself.

Let the rules discussion begin!!!!

You have some good arguements. This should be a place for the members to talk to each other. I just don't want it to get too far away from our core interest so that we have to wade through lost cat posts, politics, religion, etc. Just like you wouldn't want someone coming to the RCMC meeting and giving a lecture on the mating cries of whales, this forum should reflect the interests of our club.

One thing that I would like folks to keep in mind when they do post to this forum is that it reflects upon the club as a whole. I hope that folks that post here - and Keith as moderator - keep this in mind. This forum may be small, but as you can see, we have people that are NOT club members reading and contributing.

We welcome all. For some people, this is their first impression to our club. Let's make them want to come back and visit often!

No. There are several that post in this forum that are not official members.
