Convertibles are so functional

I don't think the Non-vert guys could do this without removing seats, etc. I was also able to get a 37" LCD TV in the back seat before.

Off to Wal-Mart in the morning to have the lifetime mount/balance, then in the afternoon to Firestone for the lifetime alignment.

These tires are SONAR NS1 255/45R17 they are H speed rated. I opted for these tires for a few reasons.

1. Price $54 each, about $273 total shipped
2. H speed rating should offer a longer life than higher speed rated tires.
3. 255 size, is a little wider and a little taller.

I'll post a review after a month or so. I bought them at http://tires-easy.com/ I've used TireRack twice in the past with good results. Tire Easy has more selection, especially of lower priced brands.

I ordered them on Friday, and they were delivered on Wednesday.

Well, after trying to follow a certain silver Mustang Tuesday morning (gee, why is that yellow Monte Carlo SS trying to follow), I guess ya need some new tires, huh?

I was wondering why you were WAY up this far north that early in the morning.

Yeah, the SS was stupid, after I went on he didn't try to pass or anything, just being stupid around all the traffic.

With my 86 vert I had years ago in Ohio, I brought home a 50 gallon water heater. Put the top down, moved the passenger seat up real far and laid it back! I only had about 3 miles to go, it was in December though and cold.

Made several trips to Lowes with mine. Long lumber, plate glass mirrors, rugs, you name it. Simply couldn't do it with a coupe.

Well, arrived at Wal-Mart on Hwy 20 @ 7:30, 2nd person there, they didn't even touch my car until 8:45 or so, finally out of there and to work at 9:30

Then I called the local Firestones about my lifetime alignment. The one on Old Monrovia said it would be 3 or 4 pm before they could get to it. This was at 11 am when I called.

The ones on Bob Wallace and North Memorial Pkwy both said about 1 hour. I drove to Bob Wallace, they said the machine just broke. So over to N. Mem Pkwy they now said 1.5 hours which turned into almost 2.5 hours.

Oh well, it's done and over with now.

The damages
Mount, tire disposal, valves, + lifetime balance/rotation $ 57.56
Tires shipped $272.73 ($54 each + $56.73 shippping)
Alignment - $0.00 (paid last time)
Total $330.29

The tires:
Sonar NS-1 255/45 R17 98H

Mouting and disposal - $40
Total- $211.66 for rears only.

I got Sumitomo HTR Z II 235/60ZR16.

They have several in that size starting at $64, I don't see the Sumitomo's though. I have Sumitomo's of some sort on the Porsche, 295/30/R18 on back

I am staying in TN for a while.

Didn't recognize the car when I saw you wanting to pull out of the sub division. After you waved, then it hit me.

You can price out the Rear and front separtely though. The rears for your wife at Tires-Easy start at $237.80. At Tire Rack they start at $218 and then jump to $242

careful with those sonars.. I use to work for NTB they sell those tires. They have a bad problem with sidewall cracking. I had a set on my focus and we had to replace them 4 times due to large cracks all the way around the side walls on the inside of the tire... they are good cheap tires but just keep an eye on them

Thanks, the last set only lasted 12k miles and 1 year, so I doubt it will be a problem due to how quickly tires wear out. Again, part of the reason I wanted Cheap tires! :-)
