Happy Independence Day To All!
Happy Independence Day, 4th of July 2008!
Enjoy your day off from work and the rest of the weekend living your life of freedoms in the greatest country in the world. Take time to give thanks to GOD for our many blessings, pray for the men and women who are serving in the military
, and the one's that gave their lives
, to give us the opportunity to continue to live in freedom. When you drive, work on, or just look at your Mustang, be thankful for the freedom to drive what you choose, to own more than one vehicle, and to freely assemble with fellow Mustang owner's. Have fun cooking out with your family and friends and don't eat too much! kennyg
George Bush (the Elder):
Born in Milton, Massachusetts, on June 12, 1924, he became a student leader at Phillips Academy in Andover. On his 18th birthday he enlisted in the armed forces. The youngest pilot in the Navy when he received his wings, he flew 58 combat missions during World War II. On one mission over the Pacific as a torpedo bomber pilot he was shot down by Japanese antiaircraft fire and was rescued from the water by a U. S. submarine. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery in action.
At Yale University he excelled both in sports and in his studies; he was captain of the baseball team and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation Bush embarked on a career in the oil industry of West Texas.
Like his father, Prescott Bush, who was elected a Senator from Connecticut in 1952, George became interested in public service and politics. He served two terms as a Representative to Congress from Texas. Twice he ran unsuccessfully for the Senate. Then he was appointed to a series of high-level positions: Ambassador to the United Nations, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Chief of the U. S. Liaison Office in the People's Republic of China, and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Phi Beta Kappa is generally considered the most prestigious American college honor society, and membership is one of the highest honors that can be conferred on undergraduate liberal arts and science students.
You may not agree with his politics, but to claim him an idiot seems to show your lack of understanding of the term. That, plus the complete lack of correct grammar (capitalization usage, etc.) in your posts leads me to believe that you probably are NOT a Yale graduate or a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

but anyway .. mother nature sure provided some massive fireworks of her own last nite .. a beautiful lightning storm just as darkness fell .. very little rain ..hope some of you caught it ..
