Battery Cover

Just finished making a battery cover for the mustang. Going to try to keep the water off of it. Made it from finishing plywood, will put fiberglass resin on it, and then paint it black.

make sure there is a vent on the side or something, if it is sealed up it can trap gasses and go boom!

I made the top a little small, and The place where the cables go through are bigger than the cables so that some air can get through. If that isn't enough I could make some vents on the side of it.

I would make it to where the top can come off. so if u need to disconnect the ground wire, its not as difficult

Why dont you relocate it to the trunk and put it in a marine battery box. Not only will it clean up the engine compartment and keep the battery away from the elements, but will tranfer the weight to the rearend to give you better traction. kennyg

Here's a link with a battery relocation kit. You can either buy a kit with everything you need, or look at what they offer and run around town and collect up the pieces. For $79.95, you're better off ordering the kit and spending your time installing it. kennyg

I plan on doing the relocation kit later. I'll do that when I turbo the mustang. Moving the battery will allow for the piping to go through there and to the intercooler.

I have no exact date. More important things to take care of first.
