I've only tinkered with a predator on a 98 gt, I got 4 tenths out of it too...not too bad, but I have a predator for my 03 now and I'm trying to figure out what I need to do with it for the best results? I only run 93 octane, and the car is running stock boost. I was told to add a degree of timing one at a time and make sure the AF is right.....how do I keep from getting it to the point of detonation? I'm worried about that more then I am of playing with my tuner....normally I think rule of thumb is a max of 4-5 degrees of advanced timing from stock....how true is this?

 

i never messed with my predator much. Never got a gain out of the predator on my 02 GT. Except shift points..they kicked ***!

The SCT Xcal I have now is set up so I cant really do much myself. I have to have tunes uploaded from one of the pros. Mainly Doug @ bamachips.

 

If you are running into detonation, you will see your car pull timing pretty fast....(how fast is too fast, I don't know)
