1994 GT Project

Picked up this '94 GT awhile back and gathered up parts to put it back together. It's a 5 speed Stang but was missing the engine. Bought a complete 5.0 with accessories from a guy north of Nashville that parts out a couple of FOXES and SN-95's every year. Have oil pan, valve cover and intake gaskets and rear main seal to replace before installing. Also a cold air intake. Hope to have time to get the engine ready to install on Saturday.

Here's the engine as purchased. The mileage of the engine and the body are real close.

Got to work on the 94 GT engine a little Saturday. But first had to move my 88 vert out of the way and so I took it for a 'quick' drive down to the gas station and put $5 in and burned it up in no time. Then cleaned up a little to have some moving around room. Had to find a place to set down a spare 5.0 I acquired with the other 94 I had that was hooked to the hoist. And finally got the hoist hooked up to the subject. Took a couple of pics to aid in connecting back vacuum lines and wiring. Removed the upper intake to remove valve covers. Removed the heater tubes to remove valve covers, Removed alternator to remove valve cover. See the pattern here. PCV grommet was just setting in intake due to shrinkage so removed it and the PCV screen that looked pretty rough. Called my local Woody's and got them to order one as they didn't have it in stock. Think I'm going to go ahead and pull the lower intake and replace the gaskets there too while Im this far down and I can sit on a stool and do it. It is 18 years old with 125K miles, so a little preventative/precautionary maintenance couldn't hurt. Valve train looks good. More on this project later in the week. Here's a couple of pics.

Very cool, it seems like it will come together pretty well. I love the yellow Stangs.
