09 GT500KR

This has got to be the silliest thread I've ever seen on this forum... Car dealers have been charging more than sticker as long as there have been dealers, especially when the car is something new and "special". The solution seems so simple, if you think it's too high, don't buy it! Would I pay more than sticker for a new Shelby ( or any other of the "it" cars out there, ie: Challenger, new ZR-1 Corvette, etc.)..no way! Having owned quite a few old muscle cars in the past, ( 67 and 68 GT-500's, 71 Boss 351, '70 Boss 302, several 428CJ Mustangs and Fairlanes, 426 Hemi Challenger, 427/435HP Corvette to name a few) would I pay todays crazy prices for one of them? No way if I had to drive it regularly, I'd only do it if I knew I could resell it for a profit...which goes back to the new car scenario, the dealer, and not just WAF, wants to make all they can on a sale...kinda like us car collectors want to when we sell our old cars. When I bought my wife a new '07 GT convertible at WAF, I ordered the car, and got it for $7K UNDER sticker..because it wasn't anything special, and I bet you can get a killer deal on a new Taurus, too. Although I do agree the mark up on those cars is excessive, there is really nothing criminal or unethical involved, the good thing about living in the 'ol USA is that you can ASK anything you want for something, there's just no guarantee that somebody will actually pay it!

On a KR they don't list the price, the sticker price is the GT500 that they started with. Felt stupid when I asked our local dealer on one

2008 GT500KR $79,995 MSRP

The manufacturer's suggested retail price of the 2008 Mustang GT500KR was $79,995, including destination and delivery charges. That price is without Additional Dealer Markup.

If my dealer could have gotten a 2008 GT500KR, I would have gotten it for $84,995...

BTW:
Firmly in the Z06 Corvette price range.
