Where are the pics? How can Ford keep this so secret?
Those pics are not of the 08 Bullitt.
The pics show a red brake caliper- we know the Bullitt will have a grey caliper.
We also know it will not have the vented hood, or the 1/4 window louvers.
There is also no badging on the faux gas cap- and we know there will be a special Bullitt faux gas cap.

GTJohn,
I really think all the performance stuff is going to come to a screeching halt very soon.
Oil prices are going to continue upwards. People are just not going to pay the price to fill the big HP beasts up.
The pressure to produce "green" cars is also going to increase.
On a similar note: When we first got news of the new Bullitt, I too was hoping for a 375-400hp engine.
But I have done a 180 on that thought.
Adding a CAI and X pipe on my 05 has boosted my hp to 320+; and I am very happy with it. My 05 is my daily driver. I now have to run 91 octane; I'm okay with the slight cost increase and it's probably balanced out because (believe it or not) I now have improved fuel efficiency.
But I sure wouldn't want to keep filling up a 400hp monster.
We also have new speeding laws here in Ont. Canada. If you're 50kms. over the speed limit you lose your car and license for 1 week PLUS a $2000 fine. And for certain your insurance rates will double.
Some of you folks might have the money to make a 400hp Bullitt your sunny sunday driver. But I don't. It will be my daily driver. 312+hp is enough for me. If you want more then the aftermarket is your answer.

The reason I am so concerned over performance, price and SE Mustangs is because this next Mustang has to last me a very long time.
Its going to be my "toy", my weekend cruiser. I don't have the luxury of recycling new Mustangs every 4 or 5 years. I have different plans for my money.

i dont think that is350 was stock, i test drove one when i was looking for a 4door car and was looking for something different than a BMW. nothing i could do could get it to spin the tires on launch. TC off and everything. now the car is fast and the paddle shifters are nice as well. even bonestock it is close. magazines tested the IS at like a 13.5 in the 1/4 mile
So not sure what you're saying here...
Saw the bullitt at the LA auto show. Nice looking and I'm sure a nice car. I was a bit underwhelmed. 50 more ponies would have made it better looking, but maybe I'm just wacky. Just knowing that my lightly modded 05 was likely just as if not a bit more powerful kind of killed it for me.

I understand your point of view. My GT is probably putting out more power too. But I'm not all about HP. The Bullitt will ride and handle much better than my GT does. The GT500 seats will be a big improvement. And 3.73 gears will also really provide some good launch power.
Plus, and this is really a pretty big deal- you'll have full warranty on the Bullitt. Mod the GT and you're void much of your warranty.
When you consider the cost of the mods to a GT, plus the loss of warranty. You might very well be looking at $10,000 of added costs- perhaps more depending on repair costs.
I'm not sure anyone can think that that would be worth it.
