Funny, I don't find that at all.....the old cars are nowhere near the same as new but they do have their merits. Boats are FAR different...my brother is into boats.....I only have to worry about coming out to the car and finding a flat tire, he has to worry about if it is still floating or not!

Boats and pools are best when they belong to your neighbor...you let him maintain them and you get to enjoy them......try that with a Vintage car, ain't gonna happen! Look but don't touch.

But put a New Mustang and an Old Mustang on the road and nobody will really look twice at the new model but you will get a ton of compliments on the old one

Are they beautiful works of art? Without a doubt, as a matter of fact, it seems you have a couple which I would consider to be as close as being a masterpiece as they come and you do enjoy the luxury of not having to put 5 -10K miles annually on any particular one. For someone who has just one, it's a totally different story.

I can do without compliments, the no starts, the heat, the over heating, the rust, the cracking of an axle, ect, ect. A good day with a classic is the one you don't get to ride home in the comforts of a tow truck's A/C.

Most of them, no....quite a few are in project status. Now I DO have the luxury of being in the business and not having to drive them daily....HOWEVER I have been there and had them as my only car. You cannot restore one AND daily drive it at the same time....that is just kidding yourself. The only reasonable way is to have it as a toy.....but at the same time I see a lot of guys with NEW Mustangs that just go too far and cross that line that takes the car from a street car to toy/race car status.

Now I took my Cyclone back in 2003 and took it from a car that sat under a tarp for 13 years, rebuilt the carb, installed new brakes and a few suspension pieces and I immediately drove it with everything else unrestored to the Winged Warrior Reunion.....I put nearly 400 miles on it in a 4 day period without any trouble at all....I even took a car that spent most of the year sitting and drove it to Florida last year and back with no troubles at all.....if maintained I have found them to be mostly trouble free...of course it is a car so you are bound to have trouble at one time or another.

Now years back there were times I made the trip home on a rollback but I was also trying to drive and restore it at the same time.

On the other hand, the current Mustang gen is by far the best all around IMO and would advice anyone to take advantage and enjoy the present good old days before they are gone or have to rely on restoring.
