I would not assume that at all.....The impression I got was that it is as pictured and not finished.
The big red flag to me is WHY paint the car and then go back and fill the letter holes in the trunk and mirror holes?!? ....and it looks like the trunk was just filled with filler and not properly welded up...otherwise it would be one consistent smear of filler to be sanded off and not dabs. Otherwise looks like a decent base.

The big red flag unfortunately is its age, showcased by the abundant chassis welding presenting a probable problem for alignment. Mine went through the same ordeal and was scary at speeds above 80 MPH.
It would not be bad as a trophy.

It is sad to see him blaming the economy instead of his own poor planning.
He was trying to build a dream before he could afford it.
$45K would be a tad high even if it was finished, since it is so far from original.

Has anyone here even seen what these cars in ROUGH...and I mean ROUGH condition are bringing on Ebay lately?!? I've seen basket cases going for $8K and more....
Check this one out....I don't think it's worth $22K but apparently a few people do and this isn't isolated:

Not a rust-bucket!!LOL Have you heard that before, Paul? Now, if it was still the early 90's, then yea, the prices wouldn't be so bad. Nowadays, if you have a rare stang, or even a good firewall and vin tag for a rare stang, you can get a good price!!

Something tells that I don't think the '91 Escort GT I had as a kid will be in this kind of demand....

Classics are like boats. The happiest days are when they are bought and when they are sold.

Absolutely true. Classics are an emotional purchase, then reality comes a knockin'.

I'll never find one in as great as condition for the money.
