Shifter improved for 2008?
I've been reading on some sites where it says that the stock shifter is improved for all mustangs for 2008. The slop is supposedly gone. When I had the 07 gt, there was a lot of slop in it, but it was smooth. Is this true for all the cars?

There was a write up in an article on the Bullitt that the shifter was among one of the best they tested at any price. Must be quite an improvement over earlier models but a welcome change. It is not a short throw, but greatly improved nonetheless.

The Bullitt and Shelby GT both have short shifters designed by Hurst. The shifters on the regular GT's have not changed.

The '07 I picked up in April '07 had a very noticibly improved shifter compared to my '05. My fiance even made many comments on it. The '05 was exteremly sloppy. My clutch in my '07 grabs higher on the clutch pedal, also. The '05 does grab till the floor, almost.

There may not be a difference in the part numbers, but later examples may have had subtle refinements. There may also be some new finessing taking place at the point of installation, too.
My shifter is definitely more precise than the '05.

I had a hurst on my 07 v6, so I also know what that is like. I didn't really like it for daily driving, it was just so notchy. I liked the feel of the stock shifter, but a little tighter feel would be awesome.
