During previous discussions, many thought it would be revealed at the San Franciso auto show. 22 Nov to 2 Dec.

I was told it was moved to LA auto show because of external pressures.

Probably was moved because of WB and the fact that the 01 was debuted in LA. WB would be external pressure.....

I want that Highland Green color, but I don't want to pay the premium for the Bullitt...

Isn't $1895 the price of the CA Special option?

Very dissappointing... and a minimal effort. Especially compared to the last Bullitt.

How so? What extra special features did the last Bullitt have?

If you compare the 01 to the 08 you find almost exactly the same upgrades with the exception of the brakes and intake. Upgraded suspension, small HP bump, unique interior, different exhaust. In fact the 08 has 18" wheels, unique steering wheel unique dash treatment, plain grill these items the 01 doesn't have.

They got the numbering right too. No sticker this time!!

Just curious with regards to numbering the Bullitt. Are they going to stamp/reverse-stamp it this time?

bullitt suspension

with the upgraded suspension, do we know if that entails lowering the ride height of the car?

I am willing to bet that the car will be lower than the Mustang GT.

The 01's were 3/4 of an inch lower than a standard GT. I also heard that the Shelby GT's have a pretty harsh ride with the 1 &1/2 inch lowered height from a regular GT. Perhaps it'll be somewhere in between this.

Located in the middle of the strut tower brace. No sticker this time.

the ride quality would be of some concern...it's got to be something i can live with...i do like the lower stance; it definitely improves the looks of the car.

one thing that really attracts me to the bullitt are the engine mods; you read so many horror stories of people trying to correct the driveability problems with the 05/06 gt's that i'm figuring that the remapped engine controls on the bullitt would address those short comings and it would be from the factory. i also suspect that the 07/08 gt's have been altered by the factory to improve the driveablity of the cars. it seems that you don't see many posts regarding crummy throttle response from the later year cars.

all in all, the bullitt seems to be the culmintation of lessons learned.....hopefully..

To me, the Shelby GT's ride is firm but not harsh. Just right. I don't think they will lower it much. The California Special bumper is about 1 1/2 lower as it is. When you add in the 1 1/2 drop from Shelby, you really can't clear most parking curbs. (at least it is so close you don't want to try.) My bumper measure about 5 1/2 inches from the ground.
