New 2008 Order Guide W/Bullitt
And while I'm going through the accessory catalog to add the chrome strip around the grille, I'll be looking for the "those that want more power" checkbox to add some decent numbers to complete the car!
Looks like a nice, if somewhat mostly predictable package. Some heartening things:
Decontented the styling (no spoiler, Dumbo-ear side scoops, fake anything else for that matter) in a step to take the Bullitt above the high-school study hall "slap everything on it" method. How very Steve McQueen in style.
"Sport tuned" suspension might actually be better than the soft-tuned GT suspension and the coal cart FFRP suspension package.
Upgraded brake pads: anything to upgrade the smokehouse pads on the GT.
3.73 rear end -- ought to give at least a good subjective kick in the pants in lieu of any significant power increase.
FFRP Power Pack cold air intake, ECU retune and modded H-pipe -- even if resulting in but a little significant power increase, any power increase is welcome.
Some things I would have liked:
Big block (5.4) power for a genuine significant power increase. Steve McQueens Mustang had a big block 390, I'd settle for a Mod motor tall-deck 330.
Bigger better disks and calipers to go with the better brake pads (hello, GT 500 parts bin...)
Better seat bolstering to go with the (hopefully) better handling of the sports tuned suspension.
How about a sports tuned steering too.
Big question: How much will this package cost? Given what extra stuff we're getting, I'd say $2-grand would be reasonable. A lot of this package is either just different stuff we're already getting (Highland Green paint, dark grey vs silver brake calipers, 3.73 rear vs standard 3.27) or not getting (spoiler delete, fog light delete, no mini spare). Of course, Ford and certainly the dealers will get very greedy on this, so I expect closer to $5K out the door when all is said and done.
Should be a sharp looking and tasteful car if but a very modest improvement performance wise over a stock GT.

I think as is this is a very impressive set of options. This was never going to be a 400hp car. Save the Boss for that. Remember the 2001 Bullitt only had 265hp. This seems to give the Shelby GT a real run for its money at 1,000's less. Probably close to $10,000 less considering new Shelby GT's are over $40,000. It looks as if this will come in at a even 319 HP as well with the Ford power pack. Keep up the good work Ford!

The 18s are all euroflange (fanblades/bullitts)
Inside weights only
(not that you'd want to throw the clamp weights on those rims anyway
Actually Job 2 for Bullitt will start the week of Dec 3rd. It was announced months back.
All of the options and upgrades would have got me to switch until I saw that there are no heated seats. Man, once you get heated seats it spoils you rotten.
I'm just going to be shopping the parts department for upgrades to my ride.

Well...i could care less about mycolor.....I just dont like the 4 guage setup without the info computer....I love the IUP 6 guage cluster with computer.....Thats main reason I dont like the new Roush Mustangs....dash looks empty.
Oh thats right, i forgot about the missing gauges and lack of computer, i'm going to need to send a few emails tomorrow to the reps and see if they can leak anything. Without the IUP this is not going to be very good, i may wait for a Camaro instead.
...hey...guages are important...they're what you (the driver) see the most. But I think going to carmero over guages is a bit of an overreaction...
Ok, you guys are assuming that the Bullitt isn't coming with the extra idiot gauges or info center because IUP isn't an option?
Keep in mind Bullitt is getting custom gauges so there would be no reason to have the IUP package. Also, IUP comes with a bunch of stuff the Bullitt won't use, like aluminum steering wheel spokes, satin or charcoal dash, etc.

good point....I just hope those guages and info center are there.
