The projected production is 5%. If it turns out to be accurate then the total production of GTs with the BULLITT package would be in the 7,500 unit range.

Also noticed they are discontinuing Windveil Blue as they add Dark Highland Green.

Performance-wise looks similar to the SGT, but with 3:73 gears and better brakes. I bet the sports tuned suspension is not as stiff as the FRPP version on the SGT.

Well at least it will have a modest performance gain over the stock GT; and with the 3:73s, it will probably out accelerate the SGT and still cost $1000s less.

Looks like a nice package.

Cool! I think you must be the first to post it actually being in the order guide.

Thanks for the info!

I'm curious too about how the suspension compares to the SGT.

There's a lot of potential here. You can get a green one because your a bullitt fan. Or get a black one and you would have a gt with better suspension and brakes to mod with a blow and your own body mods.

Awesome, we finally have the official specs! Now we just need pictures!!! After all the speculation, it looks like a decent package to me. I am hoping Kevin will have some of these parts to add to our Mustangs. I might be interested in these:

• Performance Friction Carbon Metallic® front brake pads
— Provides superior braking & pedal feel
— Extended wear, improved fade resistance
— Reduced noise & lower dusting
• Sport Tuned Suspension (shocks/springs/stabilizer bar)
• Dark Grey Brake Calipers
• New Upper Grille w/o Fog Lamps or Pony Badge
• Unique IP Finish (gunmetal engine turn pattern)
-- Probably too expensive to retrofit, but I am curious to see what it looks like.

Another thought is that many of these parts should be included on the Shelby GT if Ford/Shelby continue to build the SGT for MY 2008 Job 2. Ford now has the parts and can install them on the assembly line. It would make for a better Shelby GT and I would guess save money installing these items on the line.

• Ford Racing Power Pack (cold air induction system)
• High Performance Calibration
• Performance Friction Carbon Metallic® front brake pads
• Ford Racing Strut Tower Brace
• Sport Tuned Suspension (shocks/springs/stabilizer bar)
--Depends on how similar it is to the SGT
• 3.73:1 Limited Slip Rear Axle
• Dark Grey Brake Calipers
• 3 ½" Packed Exhaust Tips
-- if they are the GTA's
• New Upper Grille w/o Fog Lamps or Pony Badge
-- Certainly a better starting point for installing the Shelby GT grill insert, I am guessing it would not need to be hacked up nearly as much.

That's what happend in 1968. Back then it was cheaper for Ford to build Shelbys than for Shelby to build Shelbys out in Los Angeles. Probably would cut $3-4K out of the price

Nice to finally have some official info! If they are replacing Windveil Blue with Highland Green, does that mean non-Bullitts can also be Highland Green?

Look on page 2 (Major Product Changes). Under Exterior Color Changes, it says they are adding Highland Green and deleting Windveil Blue. Dropping one color and adding another seems like a replacement to me.

I don't think so. It specifies Bullitt after Highland Green.

EXTERIOR COLOR CHANGES

New Colors Added:
Highland Green Clearcoat (Bullitt) (PX)

Colors Deleted:
Windveil Blue Metallic

The 1968, 1969 & 1970 Shelby Mustangs were built in MI by A.O. Smith Co. (not Ford).

The reason is, as you said, to save $$ and because Shelby wanted out because he thought performance cars were dead. Shelby sold the Cobra name to Ford because he thought it was nearly worthless.
