On the topic of Dynacorn:
I had used a few of their body panels for my 68 FB project and for being stamped oversees their stuff is top notch. One of the main areas to rust out on the fastback is the quarter panels and cowls, with the dynacorp stuff you can replace the panel and weld everything in the factory location.

I would be concerned with the total cost of building one.

Highland Green
4.6L 3v V8
Larger (3.5-4") resonator tips on stock mufflers
New dash trim called Engine Turned (think Spirit of St. Louis)
Black painted stock calipers
Slightly different font on gauges
No side emblems
Nice decklid medallion with "BULLITT" in a rifle scope on it, same finish as the GT500
3.73:1 gears

+3 Looks like the paint is the only cool thing going for it that everyone can agree on - and that is sad.

I had a '68 GT restored back in '01, the total cost was $27K with the base being $8K. It would make more sense to get the '08.

You know what, here's a better idea for us Ford fans who want a Bullitt. Go out and buy a 68 GT 390.
This is quite a pathetic attempt from Ford to sell a "special edition" Heck, there aren't even upgraded brakes like the last Bullitt had

I am very disappointed with this pre-production spec and I am tempted to pull out of my purchase of the 2008. Unless I see some last minute surprise at the LA show, Ford will not get a sale out of me.
If Ford really do read all our posts then lets have a thread called
"Boycott the 2008"
Lets stop talking about it and vote with out feet. Now somebody will buy them but as it stands I am not only prepared to pull out of my purchase I am tempted to sell my 01 Bullitt as well.
Having waited for this car that I actually hoped they would not make, it looks like it is going to come up real short for me.

As beautiful and unique as my '68 GT was when it was finally completed it was not in the same league as my '06 GT. There is a lot of myth, nostalgia, and romance with the original but in reality the current GT generation is far superior, even better that the old GT350s and GT500s. The '08 BULLITT should be a dandy.
