When I bought my GT/CS 2 years ago, I was torn because I had to choose between the CS and the Bullitt. I had always loved the movie and when the 2001 Bullitt came out, I was still in high school so buying one was out of the question. I had never been insde the 2001 Bullitt, but thought that the package Ford threw on it at the time was perfect.

Fast forward to 2008 and prior to purchasing the CS I had done my research for the Bullitt and had my heart set on buying it. Ironically though, when I went to to pick it up and saw it next to the CS, I fell in love with the Candy Apple Red Paint and upgraded looks of the CS. However, I have never quite stopped wondering since that day what would have been if I bought the Bullitt.

I have thrown around the idea of selling the CS and buying an 08 Bullitt but I know I would miss the CS if I did that. So I'm thinking that maybe I can buy a mint 2001 Bullitt and have it as my weekend car (the CS is a daily along with the V6).

Any thoughts on the 2001? Or would you say that the 2008 is really the way to go?

I like the looks of the CS a lot. It was my 2nd choice in White w/ black stripes.

I have a 08 Bullitt and love it. It is my favorite car of all that I have owned so far.

Drove the 01 when it came out. Unimpressed by the tight fit of the interior and plastic hood scoop. Plus it looks nothing like the movie car. I do like the performance enhancements and can appreciate it however never liked that body style.

Does it happen to be a lady from SA who has a blown '01?

 

I'm the third owner of my '01 Bullitt, I bought it almost four years ago, and have enjoyed it quite a bit. The first two owners took very good care of it, and I've made sure to do the same as well. It currently has less than 40k miles on it, and I put a couple thousand miles a year on it. I drove several different SN95/New Edge Mustangs including a Mach and a '96 Cobra, and definitely liked the Bullitt the best.

I came close to buying an '08 Bullitt when I bought my '08 GT, but at the time FOrd wasn't offering any rebates or special financing on the Bullitts, but was offering $3k back on regular GT's, so I saved around $5k by getting my GT instead of a new Bullitt, but I still sometimes regret not getting the Bullitt. I still consider from time to time trading in my '08 GT on an '08 Bullitt when I get my GT paid off.
