Bullitt Trivia

Does anyone know Detective Lieutenant Frank Bullitt's shield/badge number? If so, where was it shown?

Badges? Frank Bullitt don't need no stinkin' badges!

I believe the only time in the whole movie he flashed a badge was in the airport scene near the end of the movie.

That is a DARN good question. I tried googling it for several minutes and I couldn't find ANYTHING!! Looks like I'll watch the movie after the Phillies WS game tonight to see the badge number.

Does a SFPD Lieutenant have a number, or does the Badge just indicate "Lieutenant" ?

Bullitt Interceptor is correct. Lt. Bullitt does show the badge and ID to airport security when he uses the airport phone. Unfortunately, the shot was not close enough to get the number. Maybe I should try Warner Brothers.

Bullitt Trivia

I was able to obtain two different examples of Frank Bullitt's SFPD "ID" (#539) from e-bay (UK)- - attached. However, neither look like the badge id that Steve McQueen showed in the airport scene of "Bullitt". I have contacted Warner Bros, Warner Brothers Archives at the University of Southern California, Academy Film Archives, Library of Congress, and the Steve McQueen website. No luck. I haven't been able to contact Chad McQueen; anyone know his contact information? I would appreciate any help.
