Bullitt Mods - the list of REALLY Big No-No's
Bullitt Mods - the list of REALLY Big No-No's
so what would be the Bullitt Killers that would be an instant head shaker and nauseating to any Bullitt aficionado?
Mods such as repainting like a Boyd Coddington Special or adding a Rice Rocket rear wing are obvious ...
but what are the others?

Actually, flame away, but back when I was hopeful that my job would actually work out for me, I was planning a HG Bullitt with side scoops and hood scoop, CS front and rear facia and dark grey (maybe sterling grey) stripes over the top, like a Bullitt/Shelby GT version. I still get excited thinking about it....

Personally, I would think nearly any modification short of rear-quarter louvers (and even then, only certain ones) would defeat the purpose of getting a Bullitt.
that's what I was thinking too, but there are more modest mods like maybe - Wheels & tires - new lights - interior changes ....
for instance, I have an Agent 47 lower grill installed.
So why go for the Bullitt then instead of just getting a SGT/CS and painting it green? (I'm guessing there was something else that was drawing you to the Bullitt?)

Second, I LOVE the Shelby GTs, but not crazy about the colors they chose. Love the Cali Specials, but hate the 2 tone interiors. Plus at the time, the Shelby GTs were WAY expensive on the dealer lots and not too many used ones around.
So, to get a Bullitt and add some exterior parts to distinguish it from looking like a V6, and having a unique and awesome car in the end, it sounded like a great idea to me.
Anyway, to each his own.
IMHO anything that can't be fairly easily reversed or that involves cutting or drilling of factory interior or exterior panels. I still miss my '01 Bullitt, and in the future would like to pick up another unmolested '01 Bullitt as well as an '08 Bullitt. About the only thing I would probably do is shave the satellite antenna off the trunklid if I couldn't find a clean '08 Bullitt without it.
Never would I change the wheels on a Bullitt unless I was putting on different Bullitt wheels.
The only Bullitt allowable mods are mods that look more like the original than the current model. For example, there are certain hoods that would work, others that would not.
