Got my VIN! Now I just have to wait. It beats wondering IF the car will be made though.

They did tell me late Feb to early March (delivery) when I placed the order though.

Great news! Here's hoping that they push up the delivery date for you.

I wonder if you saw the one at my dealership, as we had one arrive (pre-sold, of course) then and I remember a couple coming in just to see it.

Our second Bullitt order has been pulled and scheduled by Ford, but we're still waiting for #3 and #4 orders to get pulled for those customers.

Charliehorse, I know that we sure press the zone & regional managers pretty hard to get our orders processed on special orders (including Bullitts, Shelby's, Super Duties, Hybrids, etc.) that are in short supply currently.

Sometimes, though, the only way we can get special consideration above the other dealers in our region is via "quid pro quo." You know, "scratch my back, I'll scratch yours." What this means is that at wholesale meetings (where Ford comes out and tries to sell us more and more new rigs), we'll strike up deals to get extras of tough-to-get rigs. For example, one time we got 4 extra Mustang GT's when they were scarce, but had to take a dozen stripped down basic F-250's that were equipped far from how we wanted them as Ford had a big fleet order that cancelled after the trucks had been built, and none of the dealers in our region would touch them. Or, Ford will say, sure you can have a Hybrid, but you have to take 5 extra Taurus's this week.

So, it will often be the case that for a dealer to get an extra Bullitt order through to the plant, they may have to take a bunch of products they don't really need or want.

It's that whole "quid pro quo" that makes a mockery of teh established 'allocation' system.

If anything, it should apply to stock orders, not sold customer special orders. I know that isn't the dealer problem, it's a problem with Ford Region handling the orders.

That's a long time out. Time to get your dealer to contact the Region again.

They're building these things like 60

It wasn't the one at your dealership Brian. Brien Ford in Everett had one listed in DealerConnection but it was also pre-sold. They called me when it came in so we could go look at it.

If you haven't called your salesman, do so immediately. My dealer placed orders for 2 Bullitts early on, and they checked when I inquired about a purchase and discovered that Ford had never received their order! So they had to resubmit and go to the back of the line.

Got my VIN last Tuesday - of course, I had to call my salesman and ask him so who knows when he received it. I ordered it Dec 14th and it is scheduled for production week of Feb 25th.

Order 11/20 clear/unscheduled, canceled 2/6. Planned to reorder from another dealership. When into a dealership that had one in stock. They told me that they wanted $7000 ADM. I told them no way, and then they said lets discuss this. I left with the car on X-Plan, go figure. Don't always believe what your first told.

Both examples of how Ford is processing special orders with expediency.

Glad it worked out for you tigermkii

My local dealer has a low production 2008 Bullitt in their showroom # 296, they are selling it @ MSRP and open to offers. It Is a Canadian Bullitt if interested call Paul Travenese at 519-756-4230 or e-mail him at Pault@Northway.com.
They are great to deal with I bought 5 cars off them the past 6 years

My car is still in production... I think it's due to the options I got... the ambient lighting especially. It is scheduled to arrive the week of 2/22, but it may be here next week...

Greetings, my first post...!

I ordered my Bullitt on 1/23. My salesman called yesterday and said that the car is scheduled, and should be here in 2-3 weeks. However, he doesn't have a VIN yet but would let me know as soon as he does.

I ordered mine with only one option besides the Bullitt package...DVD Navigation. Not sure if that will slow down the build process.

This will be the third Bullitt my dealer will have received, but the other two were ordered for inventory. The second one hasn't arrived yet, but it has already been pre-sold. A buddy of mine bought their first Bullitt, and after I drove it home for him, I was hooked. I've been away from the Mustang fold for awhile, and I'm looking forward to returning.

Cheers,
