2189 made it home...

I'm beginning to think that the numbering system isn't whats been posted on the IMBOC forums. I need to sign up over there.

BTW...check out the last pic to see what's underneath the plaque.

Definitely have to meet up.

Yep...here in Houston.

I ordered the car back in Nov...as far as the numbering, it's posted that they did it consecutively. The dealer that told me about the reverse imprint/mirror deal also took delivery of a 2000-series numbered car back in December. A buddy called me last night while looking at a 600-series car a few VINs away from mine. I know that the cars don't come down the line in VIN order, but it doesn't look like they are consecutively numbered, either.

YAY Mike!!!! It's about time!!!

What do you think after driving it?

I'll be headed outside at daylight with a mirror to put under my strutbrace - that's pretty cool. What made you put a mirror under there in the first place?

Congradulations!!!

Thanks!

I drove it about 20 miles home and parked it (it's still wrapped up). I was very impressed. I just drove a friend's 08GT last week, and the 3.73 are a major difference. The car seemed really solid, too. I took it really easy, so ask me again after I get some miles on it.

A Ford dealer (and SSP enthusiast), who is a member on my website below told me about the plaque deal.

Yes there is definitely something odd about the numbering. Ford says it's strictly consecutive, but it sure looks otherwise.

It's a Ford Racing brace with a Bullitt plate over it, so the underside would be reverse print Ford Racing

We have a Ford source that is looking into the numbering. He stated that it is consecutive but it seems otherwise. But unless you already have 7700 orders it wouldn't work to do random numbers... Should know something soon.
