Congrats on ordering the Bullitt. Interesting hearing the different prices being asked for the Bullitt. Right from the get go, my dealer said he would sell me one at invoice price. Don't forget the dealer is still making the holdback money on the vehicle. And besides, it is the service side of the dealership where they make the big money.

Thanks, we are quite excited about having a matched set of Black 2008 Special Edition Mustangs.

Yeah they make money even when they sell under invoice. I got my 2005 F-450 XLT Lariat Crew cab 4X4 from this same Dealer for $3000.00 Under Invoice.

I don’t screw around and my dealer doesn’t play games. I walk into the dealership owner’s office, and we talk about what I want and the best price he will give me. I say order it, when it gets here I write a personal check and drive off in my new custom ordered vehicle. Couldn’t be much easier. All other dealers in this area are selling their Bullitts at MSRP, not lower. I’m paying right in the middle between invoice and MSRP for mine. The Special Edition cars are not the same as the standard cars.

</o> When I bought my GT500 all of the dealers around here were STILL getting $20,000 over MSRP. A very good friend of mine was the GM of another local dealership, and he was getting $20,000 over MSRP and selling them as quick as he could get them. My getting a GT500 for $5,000 over MSRP was a good deal for both of us. Truth-be-told after putting my first 1600 miles on it, I’m so satisfied, it was absolutely worth paying an ADM. I have a good long-term relationship with the owner of my dealership; I don’t begrudge him making a decent living selling cars, he is not ripping me off.

Yeah, you definitely got a good deal on your GT500. Especially since you ordered it exactly like you wanted. That will be cool to have two black SE Mustangs in your driveway. I still love my '01 Bullitt (original owner), but if I had garage space, I'd definitely want a new Mustang to go along with it. I need a convertible living in FL!

I highly doubt that. Better check your sources again.

It's official: Bullitt continues into the 2009 model year. The official word came via Ford's 2009 Mustang and GT500 Ordering Guides dated 3/19/08.

Yes, I just saw that. Shame on me! But something sounds "off" to me here. Very unusual of Ford to do that. I know they're in the business of selling cars, but they usually stick to their word pretty good. Guess I'll wait and see what's next.

If you figure it on an individual car basis that may be true, but over all any perceived profit from holdback disappears quickly when you factor in the rest of the new stock that does not sell instantly.

You on the other hand are the one who paid your good money for a new Mustang GT that wasn’t good enough for you. You then bent over and took it up the A$$ to the tune of $500+ bucks on a tuner and intake, and $1000+ for some different wheels and tires, worse you bent over and paid 1200 extra dollars for 1/3 of your trunk to be filled with two speakers and an amp, Christ, you are almost up to my $5000 ADM and you still don’t have a GT500. Why are you worried about what I paid for mine?
Took it up the *** huh? Almost up to your 5000 ADM? I bought the car I wanted in cash, under MSRP, 500 over invoice. You can try and rationalize why your decision to spend $5000 MSRP but that doesn't mean it was the right one. It's alright because the market is built on suckers like yourself. The money I spent modifying my car did just that, MODIFIED IT and made it better. The 5k you spent did nothing but get you the car for a ridiculous price and chuckles behind your back by the saleman and the dealer. I think I'm doing pretty well for a 19 year old kid who is already turning real estate deals and set with an Aviation Contract with the Marine Corps. Does BOHICA mean anything to you? I don't throw my money into the wind, don't try and rationlize it when you do.

Yeah but none of that matters as long as you keep acting like an A$$HOLE. Your post is a flaming example of just how ignorant you are. Grow up.

And why are you even here at all if we're all such a bunch of dipsticks?

Economics is obviously something that confuses you because in all reality people make money off idiots like yourself. Dealers charged outrageous prices because they knew dumbasses would pay them. If being a smart buyer who doesn't let stealerships screw him means I'm arrogant than so be it. Doesn't change the fact your ******* paid 5k extra for a car that's worth much less. I bet tossing 5k into the wind is fun

Nope, He doesn't have a clue about me. I guess I could have used my Honorably Discharged Combat Veterans license plates as my Avatar…

This wannabe still lives with his soon to be divorced Mommy in Northridge, CA. He is simply pathetic; he wouldn’t make it halfway through Basic Training. But his free financial advice is hilariously funny, and worth every penny of the price...

Someone please tell TehSLeeper it is spelled Aeronautical.

You'd think, huh? Ya know, it stinks so bad here most of them are members, several are regulars with thousands of posts, a couple are even supporting members. Go figure.

Oh well. Back to the topic: Buying the Bullitt was a good choice!!
