Saleen rumor.

I heard from someone today that Saleen is going to put the Racecraft brand in full swing. The Racecraft brand will make Mustang's, Fusion's, and Foci. While the Saleen brand will stick to S-302 E's, special editions, and supercars.

No, the Challenger's (and Camaro's once they come out) are not from Saleen, they are from SMS. SMS is the company that Steve Saleen is running now after leaving Saleen (makers of the PJ, Dan Gurney, etc).

They are 2 different companies.

I want to pimp my Foci. I already found a "U" from Ford and rebadged the trunklid so my car now reads "F U C U S". Pretty sweet. Pffff. I oughta call Stevie up and see if he can get me 200 at the wheels. Whooo, hold on!

I don't think Stevie does Fords anymore .

'Saleen' seems to be much better without him

interesting. I heard he'd burned bridges with Ford. Maybe not.
Or he's getting Mustangs through another source.

Well the rumor had popped up a while ago about Saleen customizing Challengers abd Canaros when they finally came out

I really feel that he established SMS to maintain the exclusive deal with Ford through Saleen (for Saleen Mustangs) and with the SMS company he could be free to do cars other than Ford and evev some more out-there Mustangs like the SMS model

He has nothing to do with Saleen Inc any more.

The SMS mustang, as far as I can tell is a one off Concept for him personally.
It appears to be based on a Saleen Mustang from Saleen Inc, with some 'SMS' add ons.

I can't get the SMS web site smslimitedusa.com to load.

I missed the Saleen open house when I was in Detroit last week.

.

"As one of the company’s major stock holders he still has a vested interest in the success of the brand however. And with his name on the building he still has his reputation to uphold. “I have a vested interest in the company’s future and intend to remain involved,” said Steve Saleen. “I take great pride in knowing I have assembled a team of the most talented and innovative professionals in the industry. Each person at Saleen has helped me achieve my dream and will help to continue my legacy into the next generation of Saleen products and services.”
