Wow, some of the comments on that page were annoying.
302 crate engines sound good though.

Yeah, same old tired crap, I bet vette guys feel the same way when somevbody brings up the fact that it still uses leaf springs (nevermind it saves about 30 pounds of weight over a coil spring setup).
People are brainwashed. Every car has to be a GT-R or its crap
Then again I guess its the intrawebs and its all serious business here.

I talked to a Saleen guy in Irvine, he said they will be offering a package deal, 5.0 with aluminum block, supercharger, 6 speed trans, 1pc driveshaft for about $22K, without supercharger for about $17k, he said it was not final though. I have been looking at getting a basic V6, which I can get for around $17k brand new with the discounts out there, and was thinking about transplanting the 5.0 supercharged motor, trans etc, but that puts me at 40k, then add wheels, suspension, body mods and I would be up to 50-55K.(it is still going to be a Mustang) So now I am looking at the GT500, but they are still overpriced, and I want Grabber Orange, which is hard to find. Then I go back to looking at GT's, which will be $26-$30k, plus supercharger, suspension, wheels, body mods, etc, which brings me back up to $45k. I dont think we all realize how much we have put into our cars, or maybe we dont want to know!!! I am all over the place with ideas. I am just trying to find a happy medium, and end up with a unique, fast Mustang that I can drive alot, and not have to worry about ruining the value! Maybe I should just buy the V6, put a GT500 body kit and wheels, and just drive the snot out of it and get wasted by every "ricer" out there!!

Wow ... that's a pretty nice deal ... cheaper than buying a new car ... does that include ECM, exhaust manifolds, wiring harness and everything necessary for a V6 car or is this swap meant for a GT .... I already got the GT500 body kit ...
