Shelby GT retail version
"The automaker will add in January the Ford Mustang Shelby GT, a retail version of a car previously sold only to Hertz. Ford said it will reveal on Sunday details of the new Mustang at its website, www.fordboldmoves.com. The car will be priced below the $27,000 Mustang GT. "

My first thought was, "great, just after I buy an '07, a hotter GT comes out....within the same model year" Then I look at the bright side....they get the extra 25 horses by using the Ford Racing Pack, which requires Premium Fuel. With fuel prices rising daily because of the idiots at BP, I'll take my stock 300 ponies and regular unleaded prices any day.

Personally, I think you can't buy Shelby GT for $27K, it will be much more than that and, you are right, it doesn't worth it for 25 more horses, but if you could, I think it would worth to pay $16 more per month for it.

Amy with the Shelby company is estimating a price point of 34k. Let's just say that price has not been warmly received by the visitors of these forums!
Steve, believe it or not a lot of people have reported getting much better gas mileage after adding a high octane tune to their GT. Basically the higher fuel cost of 92/93 octane is offset by the improved mileage. If you can keep your foot out of it that is

I agree...34,000 sounds like too much...not by a lot though...I was thinking it should be around the same that the GT/CS...+$1,000...this is not my opinion of what it is worth, just what I think would be ok
