Shelby GT MSRP+$20,000 market adjustment

I stopped by Marietta Ford this afternoon. They had a Black 2007 Shelby GT with silver stripes in the showroom for $59,000. I didn't have my camera with me--oh well, most of you have seen them already.

The car looked really cool. I really like the grill on these cars but I'm not a fan of the hood scoop with the chinsy rivets.

Hopefully that $20,000 markup will begin to deminish soon.

Shelby CSM Number: 07SGT0071

I don't remember the numbers exactly but it went something like this:

Mustang GT +$28,700

Shelby GT Package +$7,390
Gas Guzzler +$1,000
Market Adjustment +$20,000

===========================
Total: $59,000

Shelby Mustang ADM

This is exactly why I believe after the initial few people take delivery and figure out they paid $8500 for a tape stripe package, a couple of minor tweeks to handling and an air cleaner upgrade anyone can do, the market will collapse.

If you'll note all the hype and posts have slowed down and/or stopped, this is nothing but a Mustang GT with an air cleaner kit, a tape stripe package, a handling kit and Shelby Stipes on the rocker panel.

I got jerked around by my dealer and my car mysteriously went to a VP with the Autogroup. For those that plunked down $8500 enjoy.

I just don't see it............

I was at Korum Ford in the Seattle area today and they have a 2007 White Shelby GT marked up to $45,000 and change. Their dealer mark up was about $7500 above the Shelby added equipment. This seems to be a bargin so far! lol

I shudder to see what the local steal- er, dealerships will "adjust" the prices to here. The only car I've seen that could be considered "worth it" would be the PJ Saleen at $65+K - given it's low production #'s and the parts that went into it. But then, I'm not a collector and could care less about that sort of thing.

It really will come down to the strength/popularity of the Shelby name. This (including the GT-H) is the 1st Mustang to come from a Shelby owned facility since MY 1967.

I've always been a big fan of the 65-66 GT 350s, but personally, I just couldn't justify paying almost $40K (with options I wanted) for one. Let alone ADMs on top of that.

I will admit that I was originally very tempted when I thought I could get one for $34-35K.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if ~6000 people come to a different conclusion and scoop them all up. Mr. Shelby is a legend and he has lots of fans.

You think that's crazy, a local Ford dealer is advertising a used GT-H with 12K miles on it for $59,995.

Yea I got the BS job from my dealer after being told he wouldnt add an ADm so I decided not to buy one. I also have noticed that the chatter on here had died in the past weeks. This is one of the only new threads in a while. Greed is killing Ford as a whole and the other 2 US carmakers. Seems the lesson wont get learned until its too late.

Those double sets of wheels have really jacked up the price.

Looks like a lot of people went to there local dealer over the weekend. Mine just got a black S-GT in so i went and checked it out. They are asking $10,000 over ($49,000). I asked him if i could start it up because i wanted to hear the X-Pipe with the GTA's, sounds good (i could not belive he would let me start it up). I have the GTA's and X-Pipe, but still need to install the X-Pipe. I think i will now.

Harrelson Ford here in Charlotte has a White Shelby GT available on the lot with an ADM of $15,000. Total sticker was $53,000. They 'prepped' under the hood and it was all oily looking.

Local Dealer in Houston has for MSRP as of Saturday past. The Base Premium GT price + Shelby Pkg. + 1K GG Tax written in the Window Pricing Sheet. Black with Silver stripe and Black 18" Bullitt Wheels. Nice car except the hood scoop IMO. Total Price came out to just under 40K.

World Ford Pembroke Pines, here in So. FL has a black Shelby GT in the showroom. ADM is also $7,500. It's been sitting there for about 3 weeks now.

My local Ford Dealership has the new Shelby in white for MSRP $30K + $9k Shelby option! I thought the car looked great but the hood scoop did look a bit cheesy. Sorry no pics
