Real Shelby for $35,000?
I wonder if this car will be considered a REAL Shelby...or
just another car with the shelby logo on it? Will these cars have a S/N from Shelby or Ford? I look at it this way ...If you can buy a real cerified brand new Shelby Mustang for around $35,000 it seems to me to be a no brainer. If I can find one in the Baltimore area I just might pick one up!!!!

It depends on how you define a real Shelby, but the SHELBY AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE CLUB has already said there will be a registry for the Shelby GT:
Carroll Shelby is not a one act play. No sooner were the details finalized on the new GT500s then Shelby and Ford announced they would be teaming up with Hertz to provide that company with a black-and-gold rental version of the Shelby Mustang, called the Shelby GT-H. The 500 examples produced proved so popular that Shelby and Ford followed that up with another model, the Shelby GT - another Shelby Mustang positioned between the standard Mustang GT and the Shelby GT500. Before anyone could catch their breath, Carroll Shelby had pulled three rabbits out of his black cowboy hat and a new generation of Shelby owners was created. Each of these new models will have its own registry and its own following.

This car WILL have the Authentic Shelby fender badge, just like the other cars in the past. There are several pics floating on the net of the black GT prototype, with the Shelby American Las Vegas fender badge on it.

I hope we can buy any Shelby for $35,000..... can't wait and see what our friends the dealers are gonna tack on. I'm still set to buy a GT 500 at sticker, yah right. It's a shame Ford/ Shelby comes up with great cars at decent prices but yet true fans are sol unless they win the lotto. Sorry bit jaded over the dealer mark-up thing.

I agree Boss9, I was on 4 different list before it was announced it was going to be a Shelby. I still do not have a car and am now looking at the Shelby GT as the car I want. Especially if I can get the upgraded brakes and S/C. Had an email from one of the dealers this week saying that they still had 3 of their 6 GT500 allocations and I could order mine the way I want it! <disclaimer> ...and only at 20K mark up!
Wow....what a steal....
I told him that is a good sign that the line of people willing to pay that much over is dying off fast.
So looks like I will wait on the Shelby GT and pray that I can get it at MSRP.
