AmyB, a couple more Q's ... Thanks!

Thanks so much for spending the time to answer our questions, AmyB.
From what I've gathered, the following upgrades will be available on the Shelby GT:
1) Supercharger
2) the GT-H style hood

I was wondering about four other things as well:
1) Is a rear spoiler option available?
2) Is there an "interior upgrade" option (like the "interior upgrade" on the stock GT -- maybe when ordered from Ford by my dealer)?
3) Will all 10,000 of the cars be 2007 models, or will the production run 2007 and 2008 (not sure what your capicity is for turning these out)?
4) Since the cars will be in Vegas, can we contact you to make arrangements for a Carroll Shelby Signature on the passenger side dash (a la GT-Hertz) while it's there if we send the $200 to his charity? (that would be easier than mailing back a disassembled piece for the signature later!)
Thanks again so much for all the feedback. All of us on this site sure appreciate it. I can't wait for this car!

So we've had over 160 views of my questions, and no one knows anything? I guess we're all just a bunch of clueless Shelby GT fanatics with no real info about the specifics of this car. I suppose I'll just wait 4 months and check back. Maybe more will be known then. I can't wait for this car, but it's frustrating to keep checking back day after day and having no new info. Later! Be Back in December. Maybe order books will be open then! LOL

Well, your questions were directed at Amy and while she's been pretty good at answering questions, she does have a company to run. I'm sure she'll answer your questions the next time she logs in to TMS.

I think alot of us feel the same way you do. You asked some good questions. It would be nice to know WHEN we could expect answers, if the actual answers to these questions can't be provided yet?

Your questions:

My questions:
1) When will order guides be available?
2) When will pricing be announced?
3) When will order banks be opened?

192,000 Mustangs sold in 2005. Production numbers for 06 are not available yet. At least 80% have rear spoilers. I think that more than a few people would disagree with you. Give us the option so that everyone's happy. No spoiler, stock wing or Gt500 spoiler... It's all good.

do my best to answer....
The rear spoiler I believe is an option, I don't have the final, and it is a Ford part, but I believe it will be.

Yes, on the interior

I think the number will be less then 10K and they will be 07's. We are talking abot adding 08 , so that would be extra and above the 07 number

On the signature, that is a good question. I will check, but it depends on turnaround time and Carroll's schedule. I will let you know.

My appologies, these are questions for Ford, I am unable to answer these.

OK, I lied, I didn't disappear for the next 4 months (I'm addicted to the Shelby GT, what can I say). Thanks, AMYB, for the answers. I'm sooo happy now!!! Long live spoilers :-) (not big obnoxious ones, just little tasteful ones so the rear doesn't look too plain)

Also, notice that AmyB said there will be 10K of the Shelby GT's in the model year 2007. That's a lot of cars hitting the lots between January and August (when the 2008's will be arriving). I guess SA can turn them out pretty fast.
Also, notice how she said 2008 may be added (this will increase the # of them, which would mean more availability but also less rarity). The initial announcement said less than 10K total production, so maybe that won't actually be the case if more years of production are added.
Quote from Shelby Autos website: "Arriving in dealer showrooms in first quarter of 2007, the Shelby GT coupe will be limited in production volume of less than 10,000 models total."
This would imply that if 10,000 of the 2007 models are converted to Shelby GT's, production would end. This may not be the case though??

THe exact quote from Ford and us is "less then" 10k, how much less depends on when we start
