Quick question about a 2007 Shelby GT...

If a person were to have a line on a New Black/Silver-striped 2007 Shelby GT that's been sitting on a dealer's lot for the last year and a half (or longer) and was interested in trading his 2002 F-150 Super-cab Flare-side Lariat on it, what kind of price would he want to be looking at on the Shelby? I've been doing some research, but prices kind of seem to be all over the board. What would be a fair starting point for the negotiation?

You have the upperhand. It's almost 2009 and the car is an 07. Is there not a price on the car that you saw?

Not listed. The website says call for price. I need to take my truck in for some work in the next week or so. Figured I'd take a look at it and see what kind of deal they might be willing to throw out there. I was thinking of waiting for a 2010, but I could settle for a Shelby.

No matter what - it will be WELL below MSRP. The Shelby GT's never really took off like the GT500 did. SOME dealerships were able to sell with an ADM, but most not. And, as you can see by the fact that this is an '07 and is STILL on the lot - they werent able to move it. They have to be paying flooring on it. I would imagine they are hot to move it. Ask what THEY want for it - and then negotiate downwards from there - to something closer to what you are willing to pay for it.

I believe dealer cost on an 07 Shelby GT was somewhere around $37k - $38k. I would think they would be willing to take well below that at this point. Keep in mind that they probably aren't too excited about putting another full-sized pickup on the used lot right now.

I know a guy who recently purchased a 08 Shelby GT convertible for $39,400. My 08 Shelby convertible was almost $51,000 MSRP. I thought I got a great deal (I did) at $45,150. It's clearly a buyers market. Check edmunds/kelly blue book/nada guides for the value of your trade in. Good luck! I would bet it could be had for 8-10K under MSRP.

With incentives and dealer cash, you should be able to buy a new '07 Shelby GT for less than $35K, and probably closer to the $32K-$33K range at this point in time.

Ok, after some checking, The dealer is right in the $32K-33K range. That's before my trade. I currently have a 2002 F-150 Lariat Extended Cab Flare-side. The Kelley Blue Book on my truck is right around $8000 give or take a few hundred. The dealer was saying they'd take about $6k-7k on the trade (seems like that's a little low, even considering the fact that they are practically giving new trucks away)... dropping it to around $27K total. Is it very likely I'll be able to get it down any lower than that? If I could get the price to around $22K-24K after the trade I'd be jumping on this, I think.
I've also got an EAA membership that hasn't been factored into this yet. Any chance that that discount will apply.

Any good advise?

I looked at this a little while ago. I was looking at 29k out the door and passed because I wanted a gt500. They can not give away trucks right now. If you can get 8k call it even. They don't want to be buried in a trade they can'ts sell when they are giving away the gt.
