Actually, you added that he had poor taste. If you're going to make it personal expect a personal response. Obviously the new ones are much nicer, but these are exact replicas of the originals from back in the day. If you don't like it don't buy it!

That is all.

On a related note,

What do y'all think of the idea of just putting the Ford Blue oval emblem in the same spot?
I thought about this too, I'd like to see a pic if anyone has done this.

I can't remember ever seeing Ford use these on a fender. Only on a grill or on the back of the car. Am I wrong?

Hey everyone the reason behind these badges is because back in the day "Shelby American" was a manufacturer they issued MSO’s (Manufacturer Statements of Origin). Shelby American used Ford engines in the Cobras so the "Power by Ford" badges where away of letting folks know these were "Fords" in that sense.

Also, Shelby American was the first American “Manufacturer” to win an F.I.A. World Manufacturers Championship, Cobras and Daytona Coupes, “Powered by Ford”, beating Eno and his Ferrari ‘s. Ford would win this title in coming years but with Shelby American redesigning and preping GT-40's MKI, MK II etc......

<OThen Ford wanted Shelby to homologate the Mustang for the SCCA B Production Class so the cars came in were “remanufactured and homologated as Shelby American G.T. 350’s for the SCCA so there’s the reason for the powered by Ford on the valve covers on the G.T. 350.<O</O<O</O
