Question Possible mods for your SGT? What are your thoughts? Your plans?

I have an internal conflict brewing - a conflict of epic proportions. One says: "Modify your Mustang!" The other: "Don't touch it as its a Shelby and shouldn't be modified from stock!".

Right, wrong, or indifferent I feel the need to do the latter, to modify her further. For those that have SGT's, those that may be in the process of purchasing them, or those that simply admire them - what are your thoughts?

There are a few items that are inevitable and fall into the 'soon' category including:
  • Custom Tune
  • Dyno run(s)
  • Misc. Shelby Interior/Exterior accents (engine dress up, interior dress up, floor mats, etc.)
  • IPod Dock
They are, for the most part, cosmetic and easily removable without leaving permanent damage.

Of course then there are the larger items in the near to mid-term future I'd like to consider:
  • Custom exhaust (from headers to tips)
  • Additional suspension mods (UCA/LCA, some type of rear differential support, etc.)
  • Tint
All of which can for the most part be reversed, but not without expending more money.

Then, THEN there are the big ticket items that are in the 'eventual' category:
  • Forged internals
  • More boost
  • 6-speed
  • Complete paint job with painted stripes
Most of these would be next to impossible or impractical to reverse and would stay in place.

So my question remains - to mod further or leave it alone? I'm certainly not looking at what this could do to resale 40 years from now. I could care less about that. I'm more about saying 'yes' its a true Shelby through and through (period); or saying 'yes' its a true Shelby through and through PLUS...all this other stuff. Hopefully that makes sense as sometimes I confuse even myself.

What are your thoughts? Any future plans for your SGT?

Mod it! Definately tint, forged internals, and more boost!

That is the upgrade I want however I am not holding up delivery. I want to know if Tasca Auto Group (the first Shelby authorized mod shop outside of Vegas) can do if for me. This is a must have I think!

Nice mods Matt....

I need to accelerate the other mods I wanted to do!

Really I plan on a lot more mods and will have the car until I am dead. It is up to you but have fun with the car and enjoy it to the fullest you would like. I plan on doing that with mine.

Thanks Brian!

And those mods...yea they are definitely spread out "over time". The first round is probably between 3-10 months away; second round not until next year sometime; and those last ones (internals, tranny, boost) yea...we're talking a few years at least!
