hood pins

Hey...I'm thinking about getting the hood pin kit for my '65, and I wanted to know how long the lanyards are...I'm worried about spending $100 on a billet hood pin kit and the lanyards not being long enough...any owners care to measure thiers?

Cody, mine are right at 23 inches long from the mounting screw to the attachment point on the pin ring. I guess the designed length was 24 inches if you measure all the way to the center of the ring itself where the post would be.

It's way longer than it needs to be for the SGT unless you like a lot of slack, so I usually make a loop under the hood with mine, right behind the headlight buckets, to take up the excess for cosmetics. I bet they are plenty long enough for just about any application.

alright! Thanks...they look pretty tight from what I've seen in pictures, but anything over 20 is long enough for me..thank you!

Cody, they look tight mainly because Shelby sort of tucks them out of the way like I do. However, they squeeze them in between the grill and headlight seams in a way that places an angular bend in them I didnt like. So I just made a loop which keeps them short, fully adjustable for looks, and also keeps any tight bends from occuring.

I believe they are somewhere around 22-24" I would call SPP and ask to be sure.
