Has Anyone Seen Their Shelby Being Built?
I realize that this is suppose to be JUST for stories relating to the Shelby-GT ONLY, but has anyone had a vip type tour of either the Shelby plant or the Flat Rock plant to see the GT500 being built? I would (as would others) love to hear your tale....
I took a tour of the old Dearborn plant in 1988 by invite of CEO Donald Peterson and saw my 1989 LX 5.0 being built, and in 2003 by invite of then CEO Bill Ford during Ford's 100th birthday event - I drove my 2003 Mach 1 out - show it at the car show - and later took the tour... Both times was really a special event in my life....
The Dearborn plant was a old plant with alot of history - (sadly my kids were to young to take the tour) but I'm sure the new home of the Mustang would be as equally exciting to visit... I know Ford offers a limited tour to the general public with advance reservations, but if your go the extra mile and write a few letters (to the right people) - you COULD get a very special vip tour.....
If I can wait - hmmmm - for the GT350 to be built - I will try my VERY best to arrange another vip tour - I would love my kids to see WHY Shelby Mustangs are so special to me... At this point in their life's Star Wars and Barbie dolls rule... Have a nice day all............ Randy Anderson

Don't have a VIN still but when I do I plan on taking tours. Just no point to go there if my car is not going down the line. I've seen the Shelby one briefly. I got to see Shelby GT-H #001 start up right after they put the hood on it. It was neat and I hope to see something similar the day I pick mine up.

No one has actually seen a sticker yet...but it appears that the MSRP on a Shelby GT with no extra options is $36,900 plus a $1,000 Gas Guzzler Tax.
If you added Ford options such as the Navigation System or the Shaker 1000 it would raise the price.
Plus there are all of the goodies you can order from Shelby...which I am trying to decide on now.

I meant 5.4, you're right. That price tag aint bad, wonder how much the S/C option is worth. I might have to put one of these puppies on order...
I hate to bite your style, but black is the only color I would have the heart to order.
