Why do so many people put those Corvette Grand Sport stripes on the fender? where did those come from?

Don't get them? They're just a bit of nostalgia from the 60's. They helped to differentiate the multiple cars out on the track. See pic. I love the stripes! Great job! I thought of doing this on my 05 GT back in 05, but I figured it was a bit pretentious for "just" a GT. If I get my way and trade it for an SGT soon, I may go for the fender stripes as well.

Nice overall look to it. To me, the wheels and hood give it that extra pop
to be some tasty eye-candy.

Thanks for the compliments. The fender strips are exactly as stated. I do track the car on occasion and they were and are intended for identification purposes. They were utilized by "team" cars of the same color to distinguish between drivers and teams. Although many refer to them as "grand sport" stripes they were "FIA" stripes. I do believe that the Cobra's ran them prior to the Grand Sport Corvette.

Here are a couple more shots

Love the car! Where'd you get the stitching done on the interior? I don't want the tiffany snakes, and I'm not sure I want the other snakes, either, but I love the CS emblems! BTW, I did get the SGT, should pick it up tonight (of course it's going to rain). No pics yet, obviously.

Awesome! Congratulations. Send me a PM and I will forward the information. They did an great job. The red stitching matches the thread on the GT500 steering wheel. He also did a leather/red stitch shift boot also.
