An Official Parking Spot "label" for Marilyn... :)

Been a while since I posted... so as part of what I've been working on, we have been doing improvements to our house. Our Concrete contractor actually did these on the side. It's called concrete "stamping". He uses dye/paint to prepare concrete and using a pressurized sprayer, he sprays the concrete on top of (etched and cleaned) existing concrete via a stencil pattern. That concrete then bonds to the existing...then he finishes it with a poly urethane type seal to protect it from stains and weathering.

So anyways... I told him I wanted a parking spot "label" if you will. I came up with the color scheme and he did the pattern. The color is a gray/silver pony with a Kona outline.

Problem is, now I want to park her outside a lot more often...

I will reach out to him to possibly do the Ford emblem later on, and also maybe the word "M U S T A N G". Not sure yet.

What y'all think? Forgive the quality of the pics. They were just on my iPhone.

First he had to outline the area to be used.

Then he had to clean the area good with acid, etc...

And here's the pattern he created all taped down and ready to be sprayed!

Then he worked on "painting" the outline first.

Here was the initial outline complete. Looked good already.

Then he had to tape it over again, to block the outline, and prepare the inner gray/silver color. This took the longest...taping and retaping.

Here it is complete but sans drying and sans being sealed.

Here's the finished product...and some close ups.

And lastly, here's Marilyn asking me to get out of the way so she can park.

Thanks a lot guys. Yeah it was an "on a whim" kind of thing. As for the shelby, I'd gladly remove it. The cost to get it on (and remove) is really minute, esp when compared to a Shelby (or a Hellcat or a Z06 or a xxxx that I would possibly get in the future). He also said getting it removed is easy.

Pretty awesome! I'm surprised you don't have one of those fancy garage floors, either epoxy or the plastic tiles.

Looks sweet, but I can see someone wanting you to pay to have it removed if/when you ever decide to sell the house..

No worries. Doesn't take long to remove and not that expensive if I have it done.

Looks very unique Burton. Good for you
On my new garage (when done next year) I may go with a nice checkered floor.

Don't worry Russ, give the floor a few weeks, and from dirt/debris/dust, etc... that box will blend right in.

Alex, what's up buddy. Thanks man.

As for oil leak, you're darn right that's the first thing I asked him. But I was assured with the sealant they put as the very last step, it protects from wear/tear and also stains. One of his customers stored a car over the artwork before, and had an oil leak on it (he hadn't moved the car) for 3 years. Found it, moved the car, cleaned the leak, voila, no stain.

Thanks Darren. I would like one of those tiled floors for mine as well. Next house possibly for me.
