Exhaust Details

Does anybody know the specific components that will make up the exhaust system on the Shelby GT?

Also, will it have 3.55, 3.73 or 4.10 in the rear?

AmyB said 3:73 is the most likely set up in one of her earlier posts. No idea on the exhaust.

The official Ford release states that the Ford Power Pack will be used. If you look on the Ford Racing Parts website, this includes a different than stock set of mufflers.

The release also states: "The high-flow exhaust system with X-pipe crossover offers better power delivery and a throaty V-8 exhaust note." So unless the '05+ GT's come with an factory X-pipe, which they may, I'm not 100% sure, it also sounds like the mid-pipe will be upgraded.

Then there is the issue of the Drag Pack. IF this is included on the car and/or an option, you'll get a set of shorty headers as well (Again, per the FRPP website, comes with the Drag pack). The Drag Pack also comes with 4.10's...

Also, in the few videos I've seen of the Shelby GT-H and Shelby GT in the "wild" they all sound a quite a bit different than a normal GT.

Something tells me there will be quite a bit of work done on the exhaust side of things.

I saw the part about the x-pipe, but Ford Racing does not list an x-pipe. Also, there are two different muffler options, the 3.5" and the 4", but I don't know if either of these will be what gets used.

They will probably be the same FRPP mufflers as used on the GT-H because those are 50 state legal. There's another thread where we were trying to figure out who makes the GT-H mufflers, they are not the FRPP/ Borla Stingers. They are something else. Below is a pic. Reports are that these mufflers are very quiet on the GT-H's, just a little louder than stock GT mufflers.

This link lists the parts of the Shelby GT-H.

My guess is the Shelby GT will have the same parts, and option of a manual tranny.

Do you think these are the mufflers?
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=8839

It actually shows up in the power upgrade package. I was able to find the x-pipe through the "build your own" link, too. Thanks!

I wonder if Amy can confirm that these are the exhaust pieces?

Yes, those are the ones that come with the FR1 "power upgrade package" as equipped on the GT-H. The FRPP number for just the mufflers is M-5230-GTA. I love the tips on them, but the mufflers are too quiet for my tastes!

If it had the x pipe, it could be a part from the 500

I just came back from San Diego; had the use of a GT-H for a couple of days. Remember that the GT-H is built from an 06 GT. That being said, there is a major difference in the exhaust sound from the 06, and a subtle difference to the 07 GT/CS, till you step on the pedal. Wow, X-pipes and exhaust are different! Pictures for now, with more to come. Enjoy!

Thanks for photos

Nice photos, love that hood and a good clear shot of the detail of the scoop opening portion. Sure hope its an option on the upcoming Shelby GT's.

It is this exhaust...

I just installed the exhaust from the Shelby GT/GT-H on my 2007 GT Vert. See the pics and review here on this thread:

The exhaust is sweet
