Since your already offering FRPP performance packs, the Ford Racing/Whipple supercharger kit would make a nice addition to the Shelby GT.

Sure would!!! 475rwhp in a car that weighs, what, 400 lbs less than a GT500.

Maybe, the kit was designed to work with the stock internals. Only time will tell.

And put out 415rwhp. We'll never see 475rwhp on stock rods.

475 rwhp is what Whipple has posted on their site as the HP on the intercooled HO kit. I'll admit it seems a bit high. Plus rumor has it, the stock internals are good for 450 rwhp. What gets me is why Ford doesn't put forged internals in the car from the get go. I'd gladly pay extra to have the piece of mind that my motor won't go boom when I show it a little boost.

You and I would gladly shell out that extra $500, but 90% of Mustang buyers wouldn't know what they're good for, much less make use of them.

I probably will never do anything to my Mustang GT, but I would have paid the extra for the internals .... just in case

I think most people actually would. It's just nice to know that you have a motor that can stand some abuse even if you don't plan to mod. Shoot, they used to put forged internals in the Fox Stangs so why not these???

Don't forget to add the weight of the blower and intercooler. BTW calling the stock GT internals "crappy" is rediculous. The car stock makes around 260RWHP, getting it to the mid 450's on stock internals is impressive for a $25k car. Stock 5.0's are getting near blowing the block at that power level, plus you need an entirely new fuel system, intake, heads, MAF, throttle body, the works on a 5.0 to make that power with a blower. An 8 PSI 5.0 with stock heads/cam/intake would push merely 300RWHP..

Give credit where it's due guys! The stock GT engine is incredible for the price. 450RWHP capable with STOCK heads on a "normal" non SVT model? Amazing!

Yeah, you got me on the weight issue. Some one else also called me out on it. Also wasn't really knocking the stock 4.6L, just wish that it came with the forged parts so that if I wanted to turn up the boost beyond the 8 lbs in the kit, I could with out having to worry. Incidently, 450 rwhp * 15% drive loss = 517 crank HP.

It has been stated by Amy Boylan that there will be a supercharger option. Details about manufacturer etc. have not yet been announced.

Two supercharger are supposed to be offered, a Paxton unit like the one on the CS6 and FRPP's Whipple based kit.
